Chief Telecom’s TPIX and CCX Deliver Secure and High-Efficiency Connectivity Services

Security and speed remain the core principles of network connectivity. Chief Telecom has extensive global external bandwidth and specialized communication integration technology. It offers comprehensive, one-stop network services while actively developing key exchange platforms: TPIX (Taipei Internet Exchange) and CCX (Chief Cloud Exchange). Through these platform initiatives, Chief Telecom is able to meet the highest standards of safety, speed, and efficiency required by carriers and enterprise users.
Chief Telecom states: “Both TPIX and CCX operate as platforms within Chief Telecom’s international-grade, neutral data centers. The paramount principle is to provide members and users with the highest-quality platform conditions. This includes security, stability, optimized routing, and professional management of connectivity and availability. Chief Telecom’s robust data center infrastructure in Taiwan, combined with its domestic circuit and international submarine cable resources, serves as the most powerful and comprehensive support system.”
TPIX: Dual Champion in Membership and Traffic, Shoulder the Critical Responsibility of Digital Resilience
TPIX currently has 264 members, ranking it 50th globally. Its membership includes both local Taiwanese and international ISPs, CSPs, submarine cable operators, and fixed network carriers. TPIX is firmly established as Taiwan’s largest exchange center in terms of both member count and exchange traffic. TPIX is now actively pursuing the goal of becoming one of the top 3 Internet Exchange Centers in Asia and one of the top 50 globally.
An Internet Exchange Center (IX) serves as the dedicated infrastructure for exchanging Internet traffic. It prevents latency and bandwidth costs caused by traffic tromboning, allowing members to directly peer and exchange traffic. This achieves the dual goals of enhancing network performance and reducing costs.

In other words, the operating mechanism of an Internet Exchange Center dictates that local exchange generates the greatest value. To expand its geographical advantage, TPIX is progressively establishing overseas PoPs. In addition to its existing sites in Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, TPIX has recently partnered with DE-CIX in Frankfurt, Europe, and CoreSite on the US West Coast. This expansion will not only attract more new local members but will also further reduce network latency and enhance content richness for all users.
According to Jeff Hong, Product Manager at Chief Telecom, “Unlike other domestic exchange centers that prioritize local Taiwan traffic, TPIX’s unique advantage lies in its ability to facilitate both domestic and international traffic exchange. Consequently, TPIX is designated as National Critical Infrastructure, subject to state-level oversight for both its network and physical security, and utilizes diverse available paths to ensure digital resilience.”
TPIX’s best practice is its perfect operational record since its establishment in 2002, with zero outages to date. This consistent stability, security, and high availability have earned national recognition, effectively providing an added layer of trust and assurance for TPIX members.
Surging Cloud and AI Demand: CCX Ensures Security and Speed
Chief Telecom’s CCX offers direct connectivity to the five major global public clouds: AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. CCX users are freed from managing complex network configurations and cross-border connections. This direct connection simplifies the network architecture while providing users with secure, high-speed, and low-latency connection quality.
Chief Cloud eXchange Center (CCX) Directly Connects to Major Public Clouds
Tony Wang, Product Manager at Chief Telecom indicated, “Dedicated access and direct interconnection are the two main features of CCX, delivering security and efficiency to our users. The private, dedicated access provided by CCX effectively resolve common issues resulting from traffic routing over the public internet, significantly enhancing security and connection speed. In addition to the existing five major public clouds, Chief Telecom will continue to expand our upstream partnerships by seeking collaboration with emerging computational clouds to offer more comprehensive services to our users.”
As AI rapidly proliferates, enterprise users are increasingly demanding CCX to secure internal data while accessing public cloud computing power and AI services. This need is fueling rising demand across industries, with the financial and ICT sectors being particularly fast-growing customer segments.
The establishment of the three major public clouds in Taiwan has significantly accelerated local enterprise cloud adoption, simultaneously driving CCX business growth. Furthermore, due to growing enterprise focus on service redundancy and digital resilience, Taiwanese businesses maintain a high demand for overseas public cloud resources.
As the geographical center of East Asia, Taiwan is steadily evolving into a crucial hub for digital convergence and AI cloud computing applications. Chief Telecom’s CCX is leveraging its superior location and robust infrastructure to play a key role in this process, ensuring secure and highly efficient connectivity for customers, regardless of where their cloud resources are deployed.
Continuous Overseas Expansion to Create Compounded Value
The combined synergy of TPIX and CCX delivers added value to Chief Telecom’s customers. For example, clients using Chief Telecom’s IDC or dedicated internet access benefit from Chief Telecom’s role as the TPIX operator, ensuring high-quality route exchange with other TPIX members. Simultaneously, they can leverage the CCX service for direct connection to public clouds. In essence, customers gain a one-stop network connectivity solution through Chief Telecom, offering integrated, low-latency, and highly secure network services.
Regarding the operation of TPIX, the focus is on expanding the number of Taiwanese members to create a positive growth flywheel effect for traffic, cost efficiency, and membership. The goal is to develop TPIX into one of the world’s top 50 exchange points, with parallel advances in infrastructure and strategic planning.
Jeff Hong stated that TPIX continues to enhance member services, including providing data exchange visibility with specific peers and offering diversified peering models and flexible services to meet the needs of members of all sizes. Furthermore, TPIX plans to expand its exchange nodes and cross-border connectivity to further reduce latency and improve reliability.

Regarding CCX, the foremost priority is strengthening the quality of the connection to public clouds, and TPIX is the ideal partner for achieving this objective. TPIX’s importance is self-evident, as the user experience and service performance—which are paramount for enterprises adopting cloud and AI services—are directly dependent on the quality of network exchange.
Chief Telecom is continuously increasing its investment in the operation of TPIX and CCX, actively expanding its presence in Taiwan and overseas. This strategy will position Taiwan as a critical international internet exchange location, thereby enhancing Taiwan’s strategic value in the global internet landscape.
The CCX platform provides a dedicated, high-speed, and secure private network connections, offering low-latency, high-bandwidth and high reliability services. This ensures rapid connections to public cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, maximizing the performance of generative AI platforms.
Julius Tsai mentioned that Chief Telecom offers more than just standardized infrastructure. Our services can be customized to fit a company’s scale, business model, and budget. Whether it’s the strict security requirements of the financial sector or the real-time, high-performance training needs of manufacturing, we provide scalable and flexible integrated services. This approach helps companies accelerate their AI transformation journey with minimal risk.
