Chief Telecom, as a carrier-neutral Data Center and cloud service provider in Taiwan, announced its 4th IDC building will be in service in 2023. Different from other IDC operators, Chief has become Taiwan’s telecommunications center, submarine cable exchange center, Internet exchange center, and cloud exchange center in the region. With the 4th IDC building’s advanced specifications and Chief Telecom’s comprehensive cloud and ICT solutions, enterprises not only can benefit from the efficiency of operation and maintenance, but also can quickly face the wave of digital transformation to develop business opportunities.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, with the changes of lifestyle and work patterns, enterprises have moved a large number of offline activities to the Internet, which has driven enterprises to accelerate its investment in digital transformation. The changes have greatly increased the global demands for cloud services, big data and data computing. In addition, large international companies have also increased their investments in Taiwan, thereby enhancing Taiwan’s position in data exchange in the Asia-Pacific region.
Chief has three IDC buildings in Taiwan and has successfully attracted domestic and foreign IDC colocation customers based on its carrier-neutral position. The magnetic attraction effect of the customer clustering has been formed. The 4th IDC building will be connected to the existing three IDC buildings by optical fiber loops to ensure that customers can quickly obtain the resources from the existing three IDC buildings. Chief has expanded exceeding 600G submarine cable bandwidth to East Asia countries to provide services to customers, and has become the data hub in the region.
The floor space of the 4th IDC building is about 16,500 square meters, and is designed to support around 1800 racks. The floor loading can reach 2000KG per square meter to meet the needs and trends of HPC. Based on the trend of customer demands for high power density racks, the 4th IDC can support no less than 6KW power rack, and can be customized according to customer needs for the power requirements.
Chief will continue to cooperate with other IDC operators, not only to create win-win situation among IDC alliance members, but also to assist companies to extend their service coverage and business scope to other Asia regions.
