Chief Telecom, as an Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) partner, announced its launch of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) FastConnect service today. Having the dual advantage of its international carrier-neutral IDC and Chief Cloud eXchange (CCX) platform, Chief Telecom is now able to offer enterprise customers with more various cloud service resources and connection to Oracle Cloud. This enables Oracle’s cloud service customers, including Oracle Autonomous Database users, to innovate on the cloud and grow their business here in Taiwan.
With the advent of the cloud era, enterprises’ demand for high-performance computing (HPC) data processing and application increases, and thus enterprises have gradually adopted hybrid cloud solutions to achieve business operational requirements due to the concerns of flexible expansion, cost, risk and capital expenditure. However, enterprises are faced with two major challenges – network connection quality and information security – as they deploy both the applications and the database on the cloud.
Chief Cloud eXchange (CCX) provides enterprise customers with integrated, private and direct connections to multi-cloud service platforms. Through CCX, customer can easily connect to different internationally renowned cloud service platform providers through private connections (dedicated line or VPN) with the maximum connection speed at 10Gbps. Taking advantage of the latest Oracle FastConnect, customers are able to enjoy Oracle cloud service, including both the Oracle cloud and database, in a fast and secure manner, enabling their cloud deployment in one go.
As an Oracle FastConnect partner, Chief Telecom is able to offer enterprise customers Oracle FastConnect through CCX based on its global MPLS-VPN and IEPL backbones. Whichever service (big data, database, storage, and backup application) provided by Oracle cloud solution is used by the enterprise, as long as the customers connect to Chief Telecom’s global POPs, they can enjoy highly secure and high-speed private network connection with super low latency and thus fully experience the services of Oracle cloud.
Through OCI, enterprise customers are able to gain several advantages such as first-class security, consistently high-efficiency performance, simple and predictable service charges, and the tools and know-how for migrating enterprise-grade workload to the cloud fast and efficiently.
As mentioned by Joseph Wu, Chairman of Chief Telecom, although the global economy has been struck by COVID-19 this year, the Stay-at-Home Economy and remote video conferencing services have contributed to the surge of sales of the international cloud service providers in Taiwan and the operational momentum of Chief Telecom’s cloud application services. Notably, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved Google’s plan to use a U.S.-Taiwan undersea telecommunications cable (Pacific Light Cable Network System, PLCN) a while ago, which will promote Taiwan as the telecom hub at APAC region. Chief Telecom, with its international carrier-neutral IDC, TPIX – the biggest internet exchange center in Taiwan, and landing POPs of 90 percent of submarine cables in Asia, will continuously move towards the goal of becoming the business application center for AI and cloud services, and the telecom hub of East Asia.
“Customers require seamless connectivity from their data centers and networks to Oracle Cloud for their most demanding workloads and applications,” said Ross Brown, vice president of product management, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “With the FastConnect Service, customers can provision the dedicated and private connections they need today and easily scale with their growing business demands.”
Oracle FastConnect provides dedicated connection for OCI and other Oracle cloud services, which offers a simple, flexible and economical way to build a dedicated link with more bandwidth, and provides a more reliable and consistent user experience compared with using public and shared internet connections.
