CloudRiches utilizes Chief CCX service to build a one-stop connection to global cloud services – helps businesses with both hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies by leveraging fast, secure and reliable network.
With the rapid growth of public cloud adoption, high-speed, secure and consistent network are the essentials for businesses to use public cloud services as an extension of their on-premises data centers so as to achieve hybrid cloud or multi-cloud architectures.
CloudRiches is the first Azure Expert MSP in Taiwan, providing cloud managed services on Azure to customers with IT Service Management (ITSM) compliance. It also utilizes Chief Cloud eXchange (CCX) service that enables dedicated connection to global public clouds, allowing businesses to move data and mission-critical apps to the cloud securely, and access cloud resources and advanced applications.

Alma Lin, Sales Director of CloudRiches, said, “It is our best benefit that customers can have access to the clouds with a stable and reliable network. We can put in more effort into customers’ requirements for cloud migration and cloud environment optimization in order to avoid the undesired interference arisen from the transmission. We’ve been adopting Chief’s CCX service for three years. According to customers’ feedback, there has been no network interruption till now, and it is also useful for project scheduling.”
Optimize overseas network performance by leveraging submarine cables
CloudRiches is the company who was born in cloud and specializes in cloud services. At present, it has about 800 customers around the world, of which nearly 20% are located overseas, mainly from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, with an annual growth rate of 150%. However, since Microsoft hasn’t officially launched its new Azure datacenter in Taiwan, customers in Taiwan usually choose the nearest datacenter in Tokyo or Singapore. Therefore, it leads to an increase in demand for international network connectivity.
Alma Lin, Sales Director of CloudRiches, mentioned the reasons that CloudRiches adopted Chief CCX service. One of them is that Chief’s Taipei Cable eXchange (TPCX) provides access to various submarine cable routes across Asia-Pacific region to enable customers to get closer to public cloud data centers with a fast and reliable connection.
Generally, the most common issue is the uncertainty of network performance while connecting overseas data centers through public internet. You can only contact local ISP in Taiwan for assistance when the problem occurs. Even though you find out the root cause that caused lower speed, it is still difficult to get immediate technical support for troubleshooting if you are based overseas.
On the other hand, Chief provides customers with full network services through a designated single point of contact. It ensures the connection quality, stability and security when customers access public clouds via dedicated connection from CCX platform. Therefore, the root cause can be quickly identified and fixed if a network failure exists. Meanwhile, CCX provides the flexibility of bandwidth adjustment according to customers’ needs. It is worth mentioning that CCX enables the direct connection to global public clouds, including Azure, AWS, IBM, GCP, Oracle Clouds, etc. Customers can quickly and easily connect different public clouds with a single dedicated line from CCX platform, which is also beneficial to simplify management process.
Diversified services are the determinants in response to unique needs.
According to CloudRiches, the customers who adopt CCX service are generally divided into two categories. One is those who need to quickly upload large volume of data. For the customers who deploy hybrid cloud architecture, they can connect Azure data center through a high-speed and dedicated line to ensure the direct connection between on-premises and cloud without latency. The other is those who adopt multi-cloud strategies. The IT teams will usually take unique advantages of public clouds into consideration for optimizing the deployment of resources, which consequently comes with a demand for accessing multiple public clouds.
In addition to CCX, Chief provides businesses a shortcut for migrating to the cloud with its varied services. One of CloudRiches’ customers, a streaming video provider, was looking for a file uploading service that can get more than 200TB of video files uploaded to a cloud in order to provide a better user experience. According to past experience, 5% of uploaded file can only be completed after 24 hours through VPN connection. However, with Chief’s large file transfer service, it just took a couple of hours to get 200TB file uploaded to a cloud.
This successful case exactly facilitates the collaboration between CloudRiches and Chief to together provide better customer experiences through faster hybrid cloud deployment and reduced time in cloud migration. “Some of our customers had had a great experience working with Chief, and even CloudRiches is one of the customers of Chief 070 service. We certainly have confidence in Chief team’s technical skills and professionalism” said Alma Lin.
The deployment process of CCX service is quite fast. Firstly, you need to apply a point-to-point dedicated line or VPN to connect Chief IDC. Second, configure the network settings of on-premises to cloud. During the deployment period, Chief’s technical team will provide customers related documents and instructions to facilitate deployment, and mostly the service will be provisioned at the day of installation.
Get rid of routine network tasks and expand SaaS services
After cooperating with Chief, CloudRiches doesn’t need to deal with those complicated and time-consuming network issues. What they need to do is to make sure the connection is running normally and check whether the internet bandwidth is adequate or not. Chief’s technical team will be responsible for network monitoring if any disconnection occurs. Even if some customers have temporarily disconnected themselves from the public clouds, Chief team will still proactively detect the network incident, and at the same time inform CloudRiches.
In the past, customers had to manage their own VPN devices when deploying the hybrid cloud architecture. It’s required to frequently check and reset VPN parameters of public clouds to avoid potential disconnection due to network latency. CloudRiches had to spend more time and efforts dealing with numerous connection problems reported from its customers.
However, while adopting CCX service, CloudRiches doesn’t need to work on interconnection by itself, but Chief team will take care of network maintenance. As a result, CloudRiches can focus more on providing better services and cloud log analysis to its customers, and continues to optimize cloud application environment.
CloudRiches is currently expanding its business into a new territory. Last year, it built three major teams, including cybersecurity, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and artificial intelligence/data, to focus on developing SaaS services. Consequently, it needs to connect cloud to on-premises data center. Chief’s IDC service is exactly of the great help to CloudRiches at this moment.
Alma Lin, Sales Director of CloudRiches, said, “Chief’s professional team provides 7×24 technical support and quick responses to customers’ issues. We’re quite satisfied with the collaboration with Chief Telecom and also looking forward to a continued business relationship.”
