Epidemic preventive actions for COVID-19

Due to the severe domestic COVID-19 epidemic situation, Taipei City has entered the level 3 warning zone from May 15, 2021. The company will cooperate with the government's epidemic prevention policy to upgrade the level of epidemic prevention operations to reduce the possibility of infection. Chief Telecom to build new high-intelligence IDC, aiming to conquer East Asia market

Chief Telecom (TWSE: 6561) announced that it will build a new IDC with an area of 5,000 ping, seven stories above the ground and two floors underground, and able to accommodate 1,800 racks. The overall design will be matching that of smart and green buildings, and close to a Tier 4 IDC. The new IDC is scheduled to launch in 2023, which will expectantly enhance Chief Telecom’s mid and long-term business momentum and assist its expansion into the East Asia market.

Notice of Government Policy and Regulation Change

Due to change of Government Policy and Regulation, any activity or behavior in relation to provide the OTT-TV services of agent, distribution or operation, or provide other relevant business service to China’s individuals, corporations, entities or organizations shall be prohibited from September 3, 2020, or the violator shall be fined not less than NT$50,000 but no more than NT$5,000,000, in addition thereto, failure for termination or rectification by the expiration of time limit may be punished with consecutive fines. We, Chief Telecom Inc., hereby kindly inform you of the upcoming injunction, and hope both of Customer and Chief will prevent our activities from violating such injunction.   Therefore, if any corresponding Governmental Authorities determine Customer’s activities have violated the aforesaid injunction, we may suspend or terminate providing our relative service in accordance with the aforesaid Regulation and the relevant terms and conditions in service order or agreement, and such suspension or termination of service provision may cause Customer’s damage or loss. We hereby notify all of our Customers of the above mentioned for such updated information.
