Due to the outbreak and the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic around the world, on March 18, 2020, the Central Epidemic Command Center of the Republic of China announced that all non-Republic of China nationals will be restricted from entering Taiwan effective from 00:00 on March 19, 2020. Furthermore, Taipei City has entered the level 3 warning zone from May 15, 2021. In order to ensure the continuous normal operation of Chief Telecom Data Centers, we have implemented the relevant preventive and control actions to achieve the following goals:
- Ensure the health and safety of customers, partners and employees.
- Continuity of Chief Telecom Data Center operation and services.
- Compliance with the regulations and public health guidelines from Taiwan CDC.
The Data Center preventive and control actions are as follows:
- The epidemic prevention organizations have been established, and the responsibilities of each department have been defined.
- Carry out external air replacement at regular intervals every day and execute disinfection of the environment depending on the epidemic situation.
- Establish a remote monitoring center and prepare to take over major NOC operation if necessary.
- The data center operation persons perform new staffing and regional duty plans to reduce the chance of mutual infection.
- The operation shifts are fixed grouping and rotated periodically. It can avoid the control and isolation possibility of all employees and impact the IDC services.
- Set up quarantine work area and conduct independent health management for necessary personnel to reduce the chance of mutual infection.
- Unless the urgency and necessity, we recommend that our customers minimize the application for entering data centers.
- Restrict or suspend IDC visit application by external visitors. Use video conferences system or phone system to communicate with suppliers or partners as much as possible. If there is a need for the IDC site visit, it will be handled in accordance with the data center access regulations.
To ensure the normal operation of our data centers, everyone who is preparing to enter the IDC should obey the following access rules:
- Within the past 14 days, if you have a cold or flu-like symptom, or you are from or have visited the epidemic area announced by the Taiwan CDC, you will not be allowed to enter the data center.
- Everyone needs to take a temperature measurement and wear a face mask when entering and leaving the data center. If there is a fever (37.5 degrees Celsius forehead temperature, 38 degrees Celsius for ear temperature), you will not be allowed to enter.
- The data center will manage entrances and exits uniformly to ensure that everyone must pass the screening inspection before they can enter data center.
- According to the epidemic situation, Chief Telecom will adjust the data center access control procedures when necessary. Due to Taipei City has entered the level 3 warning zone from May 15, 2021, please refer to attachment for Chief Telecom’s upgraded control measures for IDC room.
The above precautions may cause inconvenience for you to access the data centers. In addition, because of the staffing and regional duty plans, the data center service might be slightly lower than usual. However, in order to ensure your health and safety, and data center operation continuity, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Chief Telecom upgraded the control measures for IDC room
Due to the severe domestic COVID-19 epidemic situation, Taipei City has entered the level 3 warning zone from May 15, 2021. The company will cooperate with the government’s epidemic prevention policy to upgrade the level of epidemic prevention operations to reduce the possibility of infection. Except those entering and leaving the IDC room for the necessity of body temperature measurement and disinfection, “entering and leaving the IDC room”will be made by real-name appointment in advance (at least 4-hour before entering the IDC room) via email application. It is expected that strict control measures will be adopted to maintain the safety of the IDC room and customers. If it is not necessary for operation and maintenance, please try to avoid entering and leaving the IDC room, and use remote operations for maintenance.
